We understand the frustration of joint pain or muscular injuries. With aging your muscular strength decreases and confidence in your balance deteriates. Gaining strength back after an operation or merely coping with your joint pain can be frustrating especially if you do not know how to address it. At UPT, our Biokineticist will work through your individual rehab program showing you the evidence-based exercises to help you decrease your pain and improve your quality of life.
UPT takes on a preventative approach to decrease the risk of serious further injury. Instead of waiting until the pain gets worse or your injury has progressed badly, we recommend that you consult our Biokineticist. Recent studies proclaim that engaging in certain strength exercises before an operation has a far better outcome for your rehab following an operation. We will give you the tools and coping strategies guided by evidence to help you recover through your rehab.

Our Biokineticists will begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment of your condition, including an analysis of your medical history, current symptoms, and physical limitations. Through various movement tests and evaluations, the Biokineticist pinpoint the root cause of your discomfort and movement compensation patterns. Objective measurements including muscle force production imbalances using a strength Dynometer will be taken. The VALD strength Dynometer is a device that measures force and is a great tool to identify in which movement you are weak. Other measurement including circumferences and range of motion will also be implemented depending on the specific injury. The Biokineticist will also do a posture analysis and record their findings together with various special tests. All this information will be analysed by the Biokineticist to design an exercise program.
With the assessment results in hand, our Biokineticists design a personalized exercise program that fits to your unique needs and goals. We will generate a report to give you a brief description on where your weakness is and what our plan includes to address these weakness and imbalances. Exercises are carefully selected to address your specific injury or condition, promoting safe and effective healing.
Your rehabilitation journey is a process and not a quick fix. To get sustainable results, our Biokineticist will show you the proper technique to do various exercises. This guided rehabilitation sessions will help you to do progressive strength exercises that fit your strength and pain level. After you have completed your rehabilitation following the guidance from our Biokineticist, you will be equipped with the knowledge on how to continue your exercises on your own. You will need to commit to a series of exercise sessions guided by one of our Biokineticists. By engaging in this package of rehabilitation exercise sessions, it will require commitment from you and give the Biokineticist undisruptive focus to work on your goals. This ensure that you perform exercises with the correct form and technique to maximize their benefits and minimize the risk of further injury.
As you progress, we continually assess your improvements and make necessary adjustments to your exercise program. After 6-8 weeks we will conduct a re-retest of the exercises performed in our initial assessment. This includes using objective measures such as the strength Dynometer to track your progression. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to take charge of your recovery actively. After the re-test we will adjust the program accordingly to maximize your results.
Once you have successfully recovered from your orthopedic injury, our Biokineticists can help you transition into an exercise routine that enhances your overall physical performance. Whether you seek to excel in sports or simply maintain an active lifestyle, we are here to support your ongoing well-being. Our aim is to provide you with the necessary knowledge and tools to adopt an ongoing healthy lifestyle. By now you will be able to understand your own possible compensations and what you can do by yourself exercise effectively and injury free.
